Anyone who has ever tried to sell a product online knows that Google is a difficult place to sell anything. It’s not a good place to pitch your own brand, for one thing. You have to be careful what you say and how you say it, because it will be picked up by Google.
Google is a monster of a place, and it can be frustrating to work with. Most marketing campaigns you have ever seen are one-way, so you have to be very clever to use the search engine the right way. There are a lot of ways to get your product in front of consumers, and one of the easiest ways is to use the search engine to show something related to your product.
In the case of google online marketing, that something is probably a brand. So many people have been buying your products this way for a very long time, and if you’re not careful your brand will be picked up by the search engines and you can lose all of your hard work.
Here’s the problem. The way we use search engines is very different from the way other people use them. We’re not the ones who sit down and type in the search term, “How do I get people to buy my product?” We’re not the ones who type in the keyword “my product” in the search bar and see a list of potential customers. We’re not the ones who click on a link and see a long list of links along the bottom of the page.
The problem is, we don’t type in the keyword or use the search bar. We type into Google and see a page full of results. And we are not the only ones who do this. Google is a massive company and it’s a very competitive place. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible for any company or individual to get ahead in this space unless they do a good job of optimizing their website.
Today’s competition is so fierce that many people are not even aware that they are competing. Google has many tools that help you optimize your website to see if there are any good links. One such tool is SEO. But what do you do with your SEO effort if you already have a list of potential customers? Well, that’s where the online marketing challenge comes in. You should be making sure you are getting the best SEO traffic possible and not wasting any more time optimizing your website.
Well, like any other SEO strategy, you need to be careful about what you put on your sites. You should never put keywords on your page that you don’t actually own. For example, if you own a page on a site called “How To Build A Marketing Strategy”, Google will show that “how” and “build” are the keywords that you should be using to rank well.
Exactly. If you want to rank high for keywords like how and build, you should not put these keywords on your pages. In theory, you should be able to rank high for them, but in practice you will often spend more time optimizing for “how” than you will spend optimizing for building. If you are going to rank high for a keyword that is not in your site’s title, you should at least put the keyword in your page title.
But don’t do it too often. It helps a lot if you use them all the time. A lot of people think that a phrase like “how to build your personal blog” or “how to get traffic to your website” are keywords, but not all keywords are the same. For instance, a keyword like “how to get traffic to your website” might be a good keyword for a blog, but it is not as good for a website.
