I remember the first time I ever tried to be a proper marketing professional. It was in the summer of 1999. After the summer I had my first real job at a company called Microsoft. I had been hired as an administrative assistant, and as a part-time employee I was on call to answer the phone and assist the other administrative assistants. By the end of my summer I was so bad at the job that I was let go.

Well, you know what you get for trying to be a marketing specialist? An hour of your time. You work with a company’s marketing department to develop and launch a new product that helps the company sell everything from their office furniture to their golf clubs. Sounds like a really boring job, doesn’t it? At least it was to me.

It’s no secret that the marketing department of a company is the most important part of their business. It’s also no secret that the department that handles the company’s marketing needs is the most important department in the company! This is why I love the term “logistics marketing”. It helps you get the job done and makes the job less boring. It also shows that you’re not just a glorified secretary.

The logistics department of a company can be a thankless, thankless job. Its no coincidence that most of the industry and most of the companies in it are in the logistics department. Its because these departments are the ones with the most important people and the most resources. Its a sad fact that the department that deals with the most important people and the most resources in a companys company is also the department that deals with the most boring jobs.
