I’ve been asked to speak on a number of business management topics at various businesses. In order to do my research, I started spending a lot of time reading books and research on the topic. What I learned is that there are three levels of self-awareness. One, the ‘I’ – the self-awareness of your life is at a higher level.
For example, if I decide to clean my house, I am aware I am doing something. I am aware my actions have consequences. I am aware the consequences to myself could be very negative.
The second level of self-awareness is the II – the self-awareness of your actions is now a self-recognizing, recognizing something in me that is an accurate reflection of who I am. For instance, I know I have a strong will and I know I love my family. I can identify the things that create the II – the self-awareness of my actions. For instance, I know I don’t do something if I don’t feel like it.
It’s an important distinction between self-awareness and II – self-awareness because they each require different skills. Self-awareness is the awareness of yourself and being aware of what is important to you. II – self-awareness is the awareness of your actions being an accurate reflection of who you are. If you are having problems with your job, or you are struggling with a relationship, you need to be aware of your actions and what they mean to you.
Marketing and management skills are required every day, and in the world of web design, they are required every day. As a web designer, the job you do is to create the web pages you design. You can do that by asking what people want to happen next in your website or what they want to see next in your life. It’s important to note that asking people what they want isn’t the same as asking them what they want to do. When you ask what people want, you’re asking them what they want to do.
