Yes, marketing. We get it. You want to sell your house. You want to sell your house for a profit. You want to sell your house for a profit. And you want to sell your house for a profit. Let’s face it, that’s pretty much what marketing is for. We are bombarded 24/7 with marketing messages from social media, email, radio, print, TV, blogs, and more.
Marketing is simply the act of convincing people to buy a product by getting them to believe that its worth more than or better than they think it is. Now, some of the more common forms of marketing are advertising, which is the use of words and images to persuade people to do something. But also include social media marketing, which is more in line with the marketing methods we discussed in the previous chapter.
Marketing messages can be a tough thing to parse for a layman. Sometimes it’s easy to make a case for what a particular social media post is saying, and sometimes it’s impossible to figure out if a post is marketing or is just a random, meaningless statement. But even more important than that, marketing messages can be a part of your marketing strategy.
