After years of trying to earn money online by writing about and selling my photography, I decided to give it a try with a social media marketing agency instead. The most important thing to me about social media is the ability to connect with my readers and build my following. The more I can connect with my readers, the more I have to sell and sell (and grow) my business.
My business is all about building a following and building a following. After I started with social media marketing, I found that I was actually building my business, which was a lot of hard work and a lot of mistakes. Now, I have a very solid and growing network of followers and people who are interested in my photography, and I think I can do more and more in the future.
In many ways, this is the exact same issue that every internet marketer faces. I have a lot of followers, and I’m also doing a lot of work on building my business, but the more I try to build my business, the more I’m building my business, the more my business is building my business, the more I’m building my business, the more I’m building my business, and the more it’s building my business.
At the same time, there is no way of knowing how many followers Im actually getting. A lot of people who follow a lot of people are more likely to follow a lot more people than just the one, and a lot of people who follow a lot of people aren’t getting any followers.
So to avoid getting lost in all the conversation about our business, we decided to have a Twitter competition. The idea was that we would write a tweet that had #indianapolis in it, and we all would start tweeting each other and trying to get as many followers as possible in #indianapolis. The winner of the competition would win a pair of $200.00 e-commerce ezine subscriptions.
For the past five years or so indianapolis has been on our list of top influencers in our city, and the competition to see who could get the most followers with the most indianapolis tweets was fierce. We had one of our writers write the tweet about the competition, and the winner was someone who used the hashtag #indianapolis.
The competition took place over three days in Indianapolis on May 2nd, 4th, and 6th. One of our writers, Dan Schimel, put in a tweet announcing the competition, and it was met with a number of tweets from other indianapolis accounts. The winner was a woman who used the hashtag indianapolis. We were all very impressed that so many people were tweeting about an Indianapolis competition.
While this competition may not be as well known as the world of Indianapolis, it does have some interesting twists. What started off as a simple contest to identify the best indianapolis-themed Twitter account, quickly turned into social media marketing for indianapolis. We’re not too sure yet, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing an official announcement of the winner.
It’s kind of like a “Who has the best Indy party?” contest, except with the potential for a lot more than just Twitter. For example, if you look at the entries that were submitted for the contest, there are quite a few Indy-themed photos.
But then there’s the contest itself, and the fact that Indy is the city where we live. As a result, this contest was a lot easier than we thought it would be. It’s also not so much about which Twitter account is the best, as it’s actually about the community of Twitter users.
