The job requires them to work with different agencies on different projects, so it’s nice working with a variety of different agencies.
Tourism marketing is essentially a marketing department that works with tourism agencies to create marketing campaigns. Tourism professionals create ideas for marketing campaigns and agencies market the campaigns to tourists. It takes a lot of work to get these campaigns done, so job seekers should expect to spend a lot of time on the phone making calls, and it can take a long time to land a position. That’s why applicants should expect to spend over a year working with a tourism marketing agency before being hired.
It seems that there are two main types of tourism marketing jobs. The first is what we’ve all read about, which is sales. A sales job is mostly a sales position, with a few salespeople thrown in to drive some of the campaign. The first is that tourism marketing is very broad. Companies can do it for any destination, from the big cities to the small towns throughout the country. Companies can do it for any brand.
As a result, the tourism industry, which is already the largest employer in the country, is a huge market for marketers. And when you combine that with the fact that most tourism marketing firms have marketing backgrounds, it puts the marketer at a great advantage.
